City Lights is a motivational, bass-heavy Hip-Hop/Rap song by local artist Connor Cassidy showcasing the ambition of a real estate agent & recent college graduate living in the heart of Boston. The music video models the plotline of Limitless, a movie starring Bradley Cooper where an experimental, ability-enhancing drug takes him to the pinnacles of the finance world and is contextualized by Connor’s actual environment and experience as a Massachusetts native and Finance major who recently graduated from Northeastern University. Locations include Victoria’s Restaurant, Peter Welch’s Gym, The Boston Public Library, the Zakim Bridge, the Seaport District, & Connor’s apartment on Mission Hill as he moves between the different worlds of the city in search of personal evolution & expansion.

The song is produced by Connor and SoSpecial Music Group, a Poland-based production duo who also made the beat for Cassidy’s most popular song, Family. The video is directed by MA-based shooter Matt Arnold of M9visuals.

Artist Bio

Connor Cassidy is an American songwriter, recording artist, & live performer from Massachusetts of Irish & Lebanese descent. He released his debut album PHOENIX on Nov. 12 of 2020 & is working on his 2nd project, NEO expected for Fall of 2021. He makes music to fuel leaders - those seeking to grow & expand their experience of life and contribution to it. His mission is to bring people together with the realization that beyond our differences & backgrounds we come from one Family: one Soul. Inspired heavily by bands & artists such as Breaking Benjamin, Rise Against, 50 Cent, J. Cole, Nas, MGK, & John Mayer, he combines his ability as a guitarist with Hip-Hop production for a unique sound of his own: lyrical, hard-driving, & not easily classifiable in the current landscape. His debut album captures the essence of his values: family, intelligence, & evolution and serves as the perfect first trip into his world.
